What really happens when you deactivate your account? When you deactivate your Facebook account it means you have the intention of returning back to Facebook. It means you temporarily disable your Facebook account.
Let say you want to embark on a serious life task and yo don't want to be distracted with Facebook and all of it's notifications/updates, you can decide to turn it off by deactivating the account.

Additionally, Deleting your Facebook account is not what I usually advise. Deactivating your account does not fully delete it but rather, when you deactivate your account, Facebook saves all of your settings, photos, and information in case you decide to reactivate your account.
