Note: You may need to backup all of your Facebook account data so far, you don’t want to miss those fun times and chats so simply take time out to backup all posts, videos and photos.

• From your account homepage, click the “downward pointing arrow” in the upper right-hand corner
• Then go to ‘Settings’
• In the General Account Settings section, locate and click ‘download a copy of all your Facebook data’.
• Once you have a backup of your Facebook activities, it’s time to permanently deactivate your account and say bye bye to Facebook forever.
• Return to your Homepage and click the “down arrow” in the upper right-hand corner again Choose account settings from the drop down options
• Click security from the set of menu that appears on the left of the new page and then click deactivate your account.
• In the next window, you’ll also be asked to give a reason why you’re considering deactivating your Facebook account forever, simply state a reason.
• Then you will be required to confirm the process by supplying your Facebook account password. Submit the captcha load and Hit the OK button.
